Materials needed:  text, articles, handouts, websites, photos, primary sources, etc.

  1. Class Objectives: Write out the goals or objectives for this seminar. Try to limit these to three essential things. Write down 3 learning objectives; 1 essential questions; 10 details for students to know.  You must provide Context and synthesis
  2. Share your Thesis and the Historical Argument you will use to prove it. 
  3. Anticipatory Set: Sometimes referred to as a relevant "hook." Use a question, a quote, KWL, picture, primary source, or an object to focus students' attention at the start of class. This activity should be brief and directly related to the lesson.
  4. Introduction: Power point
  5. Key story to Illustrate this topic.
  6. Assign Homework Activity; 1 essay,  1 short Documentary that will enhance understanding of the topic.  Preview and Provide 5 relevant questions.  Students Complete in Notebook for HW.

Watch the APUSH REVIEW:  from Civil War to present.  This will help you
review the last decades from 1990-
 
Then, look at your list of events you are unfamiliar with, and check out your 5 STEPS or your Notebook/Period Review
 
Carefully examine the Periods you are unfamiliar with....and use 5 STEPS to
review.
 
Write out Supreme Court cases, again.
Write out Presidents....
THEN>.....Write out the Periods and their important dates, names, events, laws, cases, presidents....everything you know!!
 
 Get a good nights sleep.
Get up and do a quick Review using your notebook or Period Papers.
Before the TEST....quickly review your lists/periods/etc.  This will help you with
a few questions!!
 
Take the Test seriously....do your best....you have prepared for this and invested a lot of time, so see what kind of beneficial results you can get.   YOU CAN
SCORE a 3 or higher but your must concentrate and work til the end of the time allowed. 
WATCH THE CLOCK!!
Read the questions and prompts carefully.
Write a clear thesis!!  Use your knowledge of the Rubric!!
Review your work if you have time.
 
Come to class Friday....and we will try to unwind and relax.  Eat!!

  • Review your Period Papers; practice writing down the dates, events, etc.
  • Watch Review Videos;  there are so many on APUSH, and other sites I posted.
  • PLAY SOME GAMES!!  HAve fun and test yourself!!
    • THIS SHOULD TAKE AT LEAST 2 HOURS; if you you don't invest, you won't do your best!!
