Q: What is FAFSA?
A:  FREE application for federal student aid (FAFSA) is a FREE application for federal student aid, such as federal grants, work-study, and loans. 
 
Q: When should I file the 2019-2020 FAFSA?
A:  
Beginning October 1, 2018

Q:  How can I apply for the Cal Grant?
A: To be considered for a Cal Grant you must file the FAFSA by March 2, 2019 (should be done much earlier, it is open October 1, 2018). The California Student Aid Commission advises students to file as early as possible. In addition, a Cal Grant GPA must be submitted for each student that wishes to receive a Cal Grant
 
Q:  What is Pell Grant?
A:  Pell Grant is the largest source of federally funded grants, and is awarded solely based on your financial need (academic grades and extra-curricular activities aren't a factor). The maximum Pell Grant award for the 18-19 academic year is $6,095.
